Elwood Ernest Adams “Woody” of Redwood Valley passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Ukiah Valley Medical Center with his daughters and son at his bedside. Elwood was born August 29, 1940 in Lake County.
Elwood was an area resident for the past 45 years. He received his AA in Tax & Accounting at Mendocino Community College. He was a retail clerk at Ukiah Safeway retiring after 31 years. For 7 years Elwood was in the Army Reserves.
Elwood was proud of “Let’s Go Fishing” a community organization teaching area youths to fish. He was a member of the Redwood Valley Community Church, “Let’s Go Fishing”, and the National Christian Organization, member of the Local branch.
Elwood’s family will remember the loving care and commitment to his wife Janet of 51 years.
Elwood is survived by his wife Janet Adams of Redwood Valley, daughters Cheri Alcorn of Potter Valley, Cindy Baker of Ukiah and Tamara Grignon of Ukiah, son Mark Adams of Modesto, sister Arlie Bockover of Kansas, brothers Don Ray Adams of Kansas and Fred Rodgers of Reno, NV., grandchildren Peter & Paul Adams of Modesto, Branden Powell of Ukiah, Nathan Snyder of Ukiah, Shane & Hannah Alcorn of Potter Valley, William Tollini of Ukiah, Michael Butow of Ukiah, Braylem Grignon of Ukiah.
A private family service will take place at a later date at the Redwood Valley Community Church.
Memorial donations in Elwood’s name may be made to the Redwood Valley Community Church.
