Joelean Ray (Lane) Garcia, of Ukiah, passed away peacefully in her home, on December 18th, 2015.
Joelean was born October 27, 1948 in Ukiah to Joseph and LaVon Lane. Joelean was a hard-working individual and spent most of her life in the Ukiah valley. She attended Santa Rosa Junior College, after graduating from Ukiah High School in 1966. Joelean continued her education at Mendocino Community College, attending academic and recreational classes, for much of her adult life.
As a seamstress, Joelean “showed no fear.” She made numerous wedding and quinceanera dresses for family and friends. She most enjoyed creating costumes and fun things for her daughter and granddaughters.
Joelean loved animals and was happiest when a dog, kitty or even a rabbit was cuddled in her lap.
Joelean is survived by her twin sister Charlean Carpenter, of San Leandro; children Bradley Ingram, Matthew Ingram (Alma Ingram) and AnaMaria (Garcia) Parker (David Parker), all of Ukiah; niece Kathryn (Carpenter) Fortin (David Fortin) of Castro Valley; and 6 grandchildren. Joelean was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and LaVon and her husband, Juan (Chilo) Garcia.
A memorial service is scheduled for January 24th @ 1:00pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1390 Laurel Ave, Ukiah. A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow, at the Ukiah Junior Academy gymnasium, 180 Stipp Ln, Ukiah
