Aimie Rochelle Lucas

Aimie Rochelle Lucas, beloved mother to Evangeline and Samuel Martinez, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025 at the age of 55 at her home on the Laytonville Rancheria in Laytonville, California. Born on June 13, 1969, Aimie was a passionate, kind and resilient woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was deeply devoted to her family, her community, her culture and dedicated her life to pursuing and promoting education.

Aimie worked many jobs such as OC 51 Fire Crew, Long Valley Market, was a former Chairwoman of the Cahto Tribe, and the Cahto Tribe Education Specialist. She volunteered and enjoyed working at the local festivals too, but working with the youth brought her great joy. She believed it was never too late to pursue education so she went back to school, got her high school diploma and enrolled at Mendocino College.

Aimie was known for her one of a kind sense of humor, infectious laugh, warm hugs, loving smile, honesty and her love of motorcycles, bull dogs, and pandas. She enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and vibing at the beach. She played a large role in the Inter-tribal dance group Bahto Napho; sewing skirts, making jewelry, singing traditional songs and dancing. Aimie will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to always help others in need.

She is survived by her children Evangeline and Samuel Martinez, grandchildren Zvon, Mia, Adrian, Leilani, Anakin, and Kylen, her siblings Dewey and Monroe Lucas and Tonia and Daniel Rockey Sr. and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Carolyn and Joseph Lucas, biological father Herbert Rockey Sr. and brother Kurtain Rockey.

A viewing will be held on April 6, 2025 at Eversole Mortuary in Ukiah, California from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. A celebration of life event will be held on April 13, 2025 at Harwood Hall in Laytonville, California from 12:00 to 4:00 P.M.

She will be deeply missed, but her memory and teachings will be forever cherished and honored; a truly beautiful spirit.
