Jo Ann (“Jo”) Aldine
August 30, 1933 – July 19, 2011

On Tuesday, July 19, 2011, six weeks shy of her 78th birthday, Jo Ann Aldine died peacefully after a very short stay at Redwood Cove nursing facility in Ukiah, CA. She was previously admitted to our Ukiah hospital for a few days with sudden heart failure problems.
Jo was born August 30, 1933 in Kentucky, but raised in Dayton, Ohio. Jo graduated from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio and spent 30 years as a surgical, E.R., and private practice R.N. in Cincinnati, Santa Barbara and Ukiah, CA.
She leaves behind her loving husband Don, children Richard (Rick) Aldine, Karen Fender (Mike), Greg Aldine, and Susan Aldine-Mutschler (Ben), six grandchildren, brother and sister in law Larry and Margo Witham who live in Jacksboro, Tenn., brother in law Charles (Chuck) Aldine in Porterville, CA, plus aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. She was pre-deceased by her parents William and Stella Witham, and older brother Bill, all from Dayton, Ohio.
A proud and dedicated, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she spent the last 35 years with her four children (when young) and husband, Don, on their hillside home and vineyard in Ukiah. She enjoyed her home and friends and many years of travel and recreation at their townhouse on Puget Sound, Washington, preparing the gathered clams, crabs, and salmon from the area. She loved to watch the San Francisco Giants, and S.F. 49’ers play their baseball and football games, as well as her beloved Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes.
This caring and amazing lady will be missed and remembered forever by all, with her ashes placed in her living room along with both wedding rings attached.
A memorial service and celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be scheduled at a future date.
