Sandra Knight Avila
Sandra Avila, 67, of Ukiah passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 3, 2012. She was born April 14, 1946, in Redwood Valley.
Sandra graduated from Ukiah High School in 1964 and went on to attend Don’s Beauty College in San Francisco. She worked as a beautician for over 40 years in a handful of Ukiah salons such as The Hair Affair, The Old House Salon, The Best Hairdressers, The Hairstylists and lastly, JC Penney. Her many clients and colleagues weren’t just acquaintances but friends and she treasured those friendships.
Sandra is survived by her five children, son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Knight and Susan Rubalcaba of Santa Rosa, daughter Kathleen Knight of Ukiah, daughter and son-in-law, Caprice and Scott Zwetsloot of Windsor, son and daughter-in-law, Scott Knight and Melissa Wilson of Huntington Beach and son, Brice Knight of Ukiah; five grandchildren, Victor Lopez, Misty Knight, Danielle Knight, Kishi Knight, Riley Zwetsloot and Lindsay Zwetsloot; three great grandchildren, Xavier Guzman, Victor Lopez Jr. and Ruben Lopez; and siblings, Martha Knight, Robert Allen, Jeanne Allen-Moss, Donald Allen, Yolanda Tadeo and Richard Allen, all of Ukiah and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jane Allen and Dennison Knight, brothers Paul and Peter Allen and granddaughter Madeline Zwetsloot.
A rosary will be held on Friday, December 14th at 7:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m and the funeral will be held Saturday the 15th at 1:00, both at Eversole Mortuary. Burial will directly follow funeral at Pinoleville Rancheria cemetery. A reception will be held at the Saturday Afternoon Club, 107 South Oak Street, following the burial (approximately 4:00). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Sandra’s name at Eversole Mortuary.
