Obituary:
Patricia Jean Beltrami went to rest on October 16, 2009 at her home in Ukiah surrounded by her family. Born on September 26, 1934 in Portland, Oregon, the only child of Richard and Lois Kearns, she moved to Sutter Creek in the Mother Lode where her father managed the lumber mill in Martell, Amador County. After graduation from U.C. Berkeley she married Ensign Albert Beltrami, USNR, and resided in San Diego and San Luis Obispo before moving to Ukiah in 1965.
She was a womans wear buyer for Macys in San Francisco and Marstons Department store in San Diego, a teacher at Happy Day preschool in Ukiah for 18 years and worked 16 years as an agent for Beverly Sanders Realty. In her later years, she was a volunteer at Sun House and angel for the Community Foundation. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels catholic parish. Pat was an active gardener and served as president of the Ukiah Garden Club as well as working on the landscaping of the present Ukiah High School grounds.
In raising her family, she actively participated in 4H and Camp Fire activities as well as Little League. She was an avid and knowledgeable football fan saying she had learned the game from pro football coach and announcer John Madden. She was a disappointed Cal Bears fan over the years since her Berkeley Days.
Pat leaves her husband of 52 years, Albert Beltrami, daughter Katy Beltrami and son, Bob Beltrami and his wife Trish , and first cousin Sandra Greer Herzog of Oregon as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11AM St, Mary of the Angels church.
The family wants of give special recognition to Phoenix Hospice of Willits for the caring attention to Pat during her last days. They especially thank Lynn Wood, Susan Carp, Miriam Slayton and Sarah Bogner for all their efforts and support.
Memorial donations may be given to Phoenix Hospice of Willits, the Community Foundation of Mendocino County, Sun House or Saint Marys School in Ukiah.
