Obituary:
Phyllis Marie Benucci, age 70, passed away in her home in Gualala,
California, surrounded by her loved ones and pets, on Monday, February
6, 2012. She was born on February 5, 1942 in Teaneck, New Jersey to
Angelo and Angelina (Potenti) Benucci. A transplant to California in
1976, Phyllis lived in the Bay Area until relocating to Gualala in
2006, where she worked as a vacation rental representative at Sea Ranch
Escape. She loved the people and the natural beauty of Mendocino County
and was happy to call it home. Left to cherish her memory are her
loving husband of thirty years, Robert Franklin, daughter Vivian
(Glenn) Wiener, granddaughter Paige Wiener, brother-in-law Kurt
Luhmann, and nephews Brett (Cheryl) Luhmann and Jeff-Michael Luhmann.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and most recently by her
sister and “paley” Vivian Luhmann. Phyllis will always be remembered
for her kindness towards animals and joyful laugh. A private memorial
service is to be held in Bergenfield, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made in Phyllis’ name to Redwood Coast Humane Society.
