Obituary:
Carla Neville Bertain, 85, of Ukiah passed away on December 26, 2010. Carla was born in Willits, Ca. on December 21, 1925.
Carla graduated from Willits High School; she was a lifelong Mendocino County resident. She worked in the super market business as a Meat Wrapper before retirement.
In her youth, Carla loved horses and tennis was her lifelong favorite sport. She was interested in Native American History and combed acres in Mendocino County searching for arrowheads and Indian artifacts. Carla was proud of raising her three sons. She was a bible believing Christian.
Her family will remember her for her pets; she was a true cat lady.
Carla is survived by her sons Vince Bertain of Ukiah, Steven Bertain of Ukiah and Paul Bertain of Petaluma, grandchildren Ian Bertain of Redwood Valley, Kenzie Bertain of Sacramento, Megan Bertain of Vacaville, Emily Bertain of Chico, Sam Bertain of San Francisco and Genny Bertain of Petaluma, also three great grandchildren. Carla was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Clara Johnson.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 3-8 PM at the Eversole Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11 AM at the Eversole Mortuary with Pastor Jim Bailey officiating. Burial services will follow at the Russian River Cemetery.
