Betty is survived by her three loving daughters Cheryl, Claudene and Clarice, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren (two more due shortly), one niece and one nephew. She was a private executive secretary for the Oakland Tribune where she met the love of her life, Bill Abert and was married for 65 years. She was always involved with music, her passion. Betty was a gifted, trained soprano opera singer who sang with the Civic Light Opera in Oakland as well as a concert violinist, 2nd chair with the Oakland Symphony. She performed in many Bay Area musicals too!
Betty was a true Patron of the Arts, involved in many Bay Area Community Arts Programs. She also had a family show that toured the state of California and was a long time member of her church choir.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing and adored spending time with her family. Betty was an engaged and active member with many clubs, including The Red Hat Club, Hummel Club and was president of the East Bay Branch of the San Francisco Ballet Guild.
Betty enriched so many lives and will be truly missed!
