Obituary:
Warren Wesley "Bud" Bilstein
Passed away in Ukiah Sept. 30, 2016 with family beside him.He was 2 weeks away from reaching age 96. Born October 18 1920, he moved to Potter Valley in 1923 and spent most of his life there. During WW11 he served in the Air Force in Alaska, following the war in 1947 met and married the love of his life Wilda and they began their long life together in Eureka, CA. In 1958 while living in Healdsburg they welcomed their only child Kenneth.
Bud epitomized Integrity in every part of his life. He developed skills and a work ethic that enabled him to provide well for his wife and son. His only pride was what he achieved for his family. His great riches were his many friends, and they loved this old‐school gentleman for his kindness, genorisity, his storytelling and his sometimes wicked wit. His smiling eyes and easy charm will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Bud was preceded in death by is beloved wife Wilda in 2010, and by nearly all of his generation of family and friends. He is survived by his son Ken Bilstein and his cherished niece Sondra Wirt (Jim).
Among his treasures are Rob and Laura Green, whose close friendship spanned 60 years. Friend and neighbor Bruce Strickland (Ellen) was always there for Bud.
Numerous other nieces and nephews and cousins delighted Bud with their lives and stories.
At Buds request no services will be held. The family wishes to thank the Potter Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to those good people
