Obituary:
Betty Rose Bruchler passed away on November 28, 2013 in Ukiah at the age of 75 following a brave five year battle with cancer. Born in Benton County, Iowa, Betty was the middle daughter of William & Wilma Taylor. After graduating from Ukiah High in 1956, she was a secretary at Masonite for 10 years. In 1961, she married Gary Bruchler and they had two children. She later returned to the work force and worked for Mendocino County Social Services for over 20 years, an accomplishment she knew her parents would have been proud of. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, genealogy, and jigsaw puzzles.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her son, John William. She is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Carole (Kurt) Johnson of Ukiah, grandson Justin Nelson of Chico, two sisters Mardene Harris of Burney and Colleen Rickabaugh of Ukiah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At her request, no services will be held. Her ashes will be placed Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
