Obituary:
Clifford Paterson Buck passed away peacefully at his home in Ukiah on May 24, 2011. He was 89 years old. He is survived by Dorothy Buck, his loving wife of 66 years. He leaves behind his son Steve and his wife Marilyn, his daughter Cindy and her husband Jeff, his grandson Chad and his wife Susan, his sisters Shirley and Pat, and his brother John.
Clifford was born in Rock Springs Wyoming and grew up in Colorado. He served in the Philippines in World War II as a Pharmacist’s Mate in the navy. After the war he became an eloquent and caring minister who earned a Doctor of Divinity degree. Later in Painesville Ohio he taught high school chemistry and photography and became a school principal. He loved camping and took his family on many memorable adventures. He was a classically trained pianist, an avid gardener, photographer and woodworking enthusiast. Upon retirement Clifford and Dorothy moved to Ukiah in 1988 to be with their children. In Ukiah he continued to serve others by holding Bible classes at the Methodist Church. Clifford was always a loving man and an encouraging influence to everyone in his life.
