Obituary:
Troy Burgess, 83, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, October 24, 2016 in Ukiah, California. He was born September 18, 1933 to Loleda May Burgess-Hasty in Stoutland, Missouri.
In 1951, he graduated high school then attended the local community college, until he was drafted May 12, 1953. He served as a CPL(T) in the Army and received a National Defense Service Medal. After he was released from active military service, and transferred to Army Reserve to complete eight years service under Universal Military Training and Service Act. While stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington he met the love of his life Elaine Miller. They were married April 1, 1955. Troy was quick-witted, quite the charmer and a true gentleman.
In 1963, they moved to Ukiah, California; whereas he worked for Wonder Bread as Regional Sales Representative until he retired in 1979.
Troy enjoyed restoring collective cars, George Jones music, traveling across our great nation and Canada, horticulture, and spending time with his lovely wife, children, grand children, pets, other family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Elaine; his four children, Renee Hunter (Jim Hunter- spouse), Mark Burgess (Darlene Burgess- spouse), Bryan Burgess and Coreena Conley (Jeff Conley – spouse); seven grandchildren Lynette Burgess, Jeff Burgess, Eric Burgess, Christina Ward, William Palmer, Caitlynn Conley, and Kevin Jenkins; and three-great grandchildren Aneya, Nicolas, and Sarafina as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Troy was well known for his strong family values, trustworthiness, respect of others, loyalty to family and friends, valor, compassion, innovativeness, hard working ethics, and kindness.
