Chapman, Sandy

Sandy Chapman - age: 70
(July 11, 1946 to September 17, 2016 )
Resident of Ukiah, California

Obituary:
Sandy was born in Portland, Oregon to Raymond and Elsie Bayless. Sandy grew up in Waterloo, Nebraska, which is where she met and married the love of her life, Garry Chapman. Garry and Sandy were married August 18, 1962.
In 1965 the young couple and their son, Terry moved to Ukiah. In 1968 the family was blessed with another son, Rick.
Garry worked in the logging industry for Albert Elmer and Masonite as a truck driver and mechanic while Sandy cared for and raised the family.
Sandy loved her family and many brother and sister-in-laws. She especially loved her mother-in-law, Opal Chapman. Opal was like a mom to Sandy and they spent endless hours together playing cards and board games.
Sandy enjoyed playing horseshoes with Garry in the backyard and she tended to get the best of him with her wicked left handed toss. Sandy loved going to her sons and grandchildrens ball games and spending evenings fishing for stripers at the lake with Rick. Sandy was also known to wear out the slot machines on occasion.
Sandy was a great mom. She was always the mom who volunteered to be the homeroom mom, team mom, and the mom who gave everyone elses kids a ride home after her son’s games and practices.
Sandy will forever be loved and missed by her husband of 54 years Garry, their son Terry and his wife Diane, their children Jocelyn, Jake, Jordan, Luke and their seven great grandkids; son Rick and his wife Michell, their children Kellie, Clay, Kendall, Lonnie, Chandler and Rylee.
Sandy will also be missed by her best friend Midge who has been an angel to Sandy and Garry.
