Louise Martha Christenson
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held for Louise Christenson of Ukiah on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ukiah Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall following services. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 5 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary with visitation beginning at 3 through to 8 p.m.
Born July 6, 1930 in Waseca, Minnesota, Louise passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the age of 83. Louise was a resident of Ukiah for 61 years. She worked at Ben Franklin Dime Store, Valley Foods Grocery, and Ukiah Unified School District sub services for secretarial, clerical, and food services. She was a member and secretary of TOPS and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was most proud of raising her children and being a grandmother and great grandmother. Louise will be remembered for her love of the Lord, her family and friends. She loved having large family gatherings. Flowers from her garden brought her joy. She loved sharing her flowers, canned tomatoes and canned pickles with others. She would often say, “Actions speak louder than words.” “Everything in moderation.” and “Keep the faith.”
Louise is survived by her daughters, LoAnne Jackson (Steve), Mary Ferrick (Matt), sons, Rodney (Debbie), Bruce (Billie Jean), Girard (Judy), Mark and Steve Christenson, grandchildren, Matthew Christenson (Marisa), Michael Christenson (Amanda), Brian Christenson (Diana), Brandon Christenson (Erica), Ira Brannon (Lisa), Kimberly Cadena (Hector), Kevin Christenson, Rebekah Brannon, Shawn Gutierrez (Ignacio), Jessica Mendoza (Hector), Jacob Christenson(Lindsey), Yvonne Christenson, Jonathan Jackson, Julia Jackson, Jay Ferrick and Thomas Ferrick, 16 great grandchildren also survive with 3 more on the way and her only surviving sibling Sr. Angelo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Merle Christenson, son Dale Christenson, daughter Frances Christenson, parents Louise Mary and William Joseph Grose, sisters Sr. Florita Grose, Sr. Luisa Grose, Sr. Rita Grose, Maryann Zitzman, Terry Jungwirth, and by her brothers Larry, Leo, Bill and Edward Grose.
Memorial contributions to St. Mary of the Angels Catholic School are preferred.
