Christopher Forrest Johnson

Our dad Chris Johnson passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, September 23, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Terry, his two sons John & Steven, and his two grandchildren Clayton & Natalie. He had been a resident of Mendocino County for 50 years settling here during the 70’s after graduating College and serving the U.S. Airforce in Vietnam. 

Born in Sweet Home, Oregon on July 7, 1947, he resided there for only six months before returning with his parents Bill & Patty Johnson to the Bay Area where he stayed until adulthood. He attended both UC Santa Cruz and University of Pacific graduating from the latter with a business degree. 

He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter. He spent his entire career working in the local timber business as a lumber salesman. He enjoyed nature and its abundance; and was truly happy in the woods. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and supporting them through their many endeavors. 

He had a very strong work ethic, maybe too strong, and found pleasure in the small things. He did a good job raising us boys and will be missed until we see him again.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
