Obituary:
On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, Eric Cline, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 54.
Eric was born on April 19, 1966 in San Rafael, California to David and Sharyl Cline. In 1978 the Cline Family moved to Potter Valley. Eric thrived in the small community where sports and friendships were readily available. In 1992, he married the love of his life, Gina, and together they raised two children, Madeline and Duncan.
For thirty years, Eric ran his construction business, Clines Unlimited Construction. He and his team remodeled and built houses across Mendocino County, making lifelong friends everywhere he went. He invested extra time for wildfire victims to get them back into their homes.
Eric was generous, kind and had a servants heart. He was a willing and eager helper. Over the years, Eric volunteered on many local projects including improving and fundraising for Anton Stadium and the Little League fields, coaching city league softball, baseball and basketball, improvements at the Ukiah Rifle and Pistol Club, as well as being a 4-H leader.
He loved all things outdoors. Some of his favorite activities were deep sea fishing, hunting, trap shooting, diving, hiking, bike riding, golfing and camping. Eric loved to cook for friends and family. He was known for his special dishes cioppino, pheasant chowder, smoked ribs, deep fried ling cod, and bacon wrapped abalone.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, David, and his mother, Sharyl. He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Gina, his children Madeline and Duncan, sister Sandy (Rob Schmidt), his stepmother Sharon Cline, niece Melissa (Justin) Malec, nephew Matthew (Sydney) Fletcher and several cousins.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)
