Valda “Tex” Clowers born Sept 11, 1930 in Texas, a resident of Hopland, Ca since 1950 passed away peacefully at home with friends & family by his side Friday April 22, 2011.
He had 5 brothers and 3 sisters, 1 son, and 1 daughter and 2 step daughters, 7 grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
He served his country in the Army, he was a veteran of the Korean War.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, collecting cars & guns and taking his family on trips across the country. He had tremendous love for his children & family and cared for all of them very deeply. He loved going back to his roots of Texas for family gatherings.
His spirited personality kept him going through a 5 year long illness, and the loss of his only son three years ago.
He is survived by his only living brother, Aurthur Hearron & family of Seattle, Wa.
Daughter, Roxann Durney & granddaughter, Mikayla Durney of Redwood Valley, Ca
Step Daughter, Dianna Skidmore, grandchildren, Russel Taylor & Chancelor Skidmore all of Ukiah, Step Daughter, Darlene (Steve) Warga, of Grants Pass, Oregon & Grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah & Gary Ogden, Grants Pass, Or. And many Neices & Nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Ella Hearron, his beloved son, Roger Clowers, his grandson Brian Taylor, brothers Jonah Hearron, George Hearron, Buck and Merle Clowers and sisters Vera Wideman, Eva Lee Abbey and Lillie Mae Nicolas.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:30pm at the Russian River Cemetery Veterans section.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to Shirley Shuemmaker of Veterans Services for many, many years of care. And to Sheila Leggett for taking great care of him for the last months of his life.
