Obituary:
Donna Jean Cook passed away on November 2, 2021 in Orangevale CA. Donna was born in Cheyenne WY to Eber and Eula Breeden. She was the youngest of five girls.
Donna attended school in Cheyenne, where she graduated with honors. She went on to attend the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She met her future husband, Jerry Cook, during her first week of college. Donna graduated with a major in Education and a minor in English in 1949 and began her career as an elementary school teacher.
Donna and Jerry married in Cheyenne in 1952. Their first son, Tom was born in Wyoming. The family first moved to Corcoran CA and then to Ukiah CA where they added three more children to the family: Dan, Lindy, and Jill.
Donna worked in Ukiah first as a substitute teacher, then as a full time teacher while raising her family. Donna was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was active in church and the choir. Music was her passion, she played piano and violin and loved to sing. The whole family enjoyed many trips and adventures together.
After Donna retired, she and Jerry travelled across the country, and visited many places of interest. Jerry passed away in 2002. Donna had many friends that she enjoyed doing things with - concerts, movies, plays, the rodeo. You name it, if there was something going on, she wanted to be there to enjoy it.
Donna spent her last few years in Orangevale near family.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, Eber and Eula Breeden, her four sisters Elva, Doris, Darlene, and Glennis Mae.
Donna leaves behind her children Tom(Lori Vieu) Cook, Dan(Teri) Cook, Lindy(Mark) Marshall, and Jill(Harvey) Rydell. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 9 great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 18 at 1 pm at Eversole Mortuary at 141 Low Gap Road, Ukiah.
