Obituary:
Nina Jean Curtis, born in 1937, passed away on January 19th at her home where she resided with Gary Pierachini, her partner of 22 years. She leaves behind her brother, Dan Curtis of Hills, Iowa, her daughter Jean Glentzer and her husband James Welch, one granddaughter, Traci Glentzer and her partner Chris Bivin, and two step grandchildren, Kayla Welch and Nick Butterfield.
Nina graduated from Mercy Nursing School in Iowa and worked in nursing for 45 years before retiring and becoming the owner of Black Horse Tack in Redwood Valley.
Nina was an avid horse woman, endurance rider and photographer who actually rode her horse to school every day as a child in Lone Tree, Iowa. She was an original member of Back Country Horsemen, Mendocino County Search and Rescue and Mounted Posse.
Memorial services will be held at Eversole Mortuary on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. We ask donations be made to Ukiah Cancer Resource Center or to the Potter Valley Community Parks and Recreation Potter Valley Rodeo Queen Scholarship in memory of Nina Curtis; P.O.
