David Earl Donnell

On Monday, February 27, 2023, at 10 pm, David Earl Donnell peacefully passed away to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on March 6, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, at a young age, David moved to and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. Following graduation from Banning High School in Orange, Ca, he attended and graduated from Western Baptist Bible College where he met and married Dorothy Iris Garland at Foothills Boulevard Baptist Church on September 2, 1955.

A loving husband and father, David was the founding Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Ukiah, Ca. David's professional career included serving as the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ione, Ca. where he also worked as a Correctional Supervisor for the Ca. Youth Authority. David also taught Bible Study in the Mendocino County Jail for over 25 years, where he served with Chaplain Gerry Burney, and he proudly served on the Hospice of Ukiah Board for over 30 years.

David is proceeded in death by his wife Dorothy, father Earl Donnell, mother Mary Elizabeth Timothy, and his brother Richard Donnell. He is survived by his four children, Stephen and wife Joann Donnell, Kathleen and husband Michael Lemley, Richard Donnell, and Pastor Aaron Donnell; his six grandchildren, Colleen and husband Jason Goetz, Patrick Lemley, Kaitlin Donnell and Chad Thurman, and Connor and Annelise Donnell; his sister Sharon Packard and her family; sisters Maureen and Linda, and his brother Craig and his family.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, March 17 at Eversole Mortuary.

Psalms 139:16, “You saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
