David Holland July 25, 1957 – December 25, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Holland on December 25, 2024, at the age of 67, following a long and courageous battle with his health. David passed peacefully with his family by his side, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and a deep passion for life.
Dave was a man who lived life to the fullest. His passions were vast and varied, with a deep affection for flight, aeronautics, scuba diving, astronomy, history and was a follower of Jesus Christ. Whether soaring through the skies or exploring the mysteries of the universe, David’s curiosity and sense of wonder inspired all who knew him. Dave loved to build, tinker, and create, including his homemade Kitfox airplane, masterful landscaping projects, and bathroom remodels; he always had an ongoing project. He found peace and joy in the great outdoors, whether soaring in his ultralight aircraft, hiking through the mountains, or finishing house projects for everyone that he knew.
David’s family was his great motivation. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Holland (Redwood Valley, CA); his son, Christopher Holland (Newberg, OR); and his daughter, Kayla Holland (Denver, CO). Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Gary & Linda Cambra, (Lakeport) and numerous nieces and nephews. His strength and determination throughout his health struggles were a testament to his resilience and his devotion to those he loved.
A highlight of David’s life came 18 years ago, when he received a life-saving lung transplant, which allowed him to continue sharing his passion for life with his family and friends. His family extends profound gratitude to his lung donor, whose gift gave him nearly two decades of additional time with those who meant the most to him. We also give special thanks to all the teams of UCSF for their care all these years and all the medical care locally as well.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on March 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Ukiah. All are welcome to join the family in remembering and celebrating David’s remarkable life.
