Obituary:
Tim (Elden Louis) Day passed away on October 25, 2012 at his home in Redwood Valley CA at the age of 96 from natural causes. He was born in Oroville, CA on May 21, 1916. He worked in mining and as a machinist, ending his career as a metrologist and retiring from IBM. He moved to the Ukiah Valley in 1974 where he and his wife Jeannette were active in the community. In retirement Tim was a woodworker making many gifts for family and friends. He was very involved in the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Pomo Shrine and the Eastern Star. His family and friends will remember Tims kindness, humor and always his jokes.
Tim was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jeannette, his son Bob Day, daughter June Day, and son Steve Barringer and his granddaughter Pamela Day. He is survived by his son Tim Day, his daughter Anne Boyes, grandchildren Peggy Chamberlain, Scott Barringer, Stacy Mercado, Melanie Day, Erin Titus, Todd Boyes, and Joann Day; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
A Masonic Funeral and a Celebration of Life will be held on November 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Mendocino Lake Club House, 1500 Lake Mendocino Drive, Ukiah, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Elden L.(Tim) Day, to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817
