Anthony Francisco Delgado - age: 19
(March 04, 1993 to April 06, 2012 )
Resident of Ukiah, California

Obituary:
Anthony Francisco Delgado, 19, of Ukiah, CA unexpectedly passed away from injuries
suffered in a car accident on Friday April 6, 2012, on the way home from a snowboarding
trip on Mount Shasta. He was born in Ukiah on March 4, 1993 and is the beloved son of
Hortencia Delgado and Anthony Celesia. He graduated Ukiah High Class of 2011 and was working as a sign dancer at Little Caesars, recently begun a furniture upholstering apprenticeship earlier this month, and was planning on attending Mendocino College in the fall. In high school he was voted most likely to “think outside the box,” he was also the recipient of a SPACE scholarship award.
Anthony made people laugh and enjoy the moment they were in. He truly loved life, his family, and friends.
Anthony will be remembered for having a deep love of BBQ sauce, half and half and Pokemón, his time spent as a part of the Ukiah High track and cross-country teams, and for his truly deep love for his girlfriend, Jaycee, who also tragically perished in the accident.
He was the type of character whose motivation and determination to learn and try new things, spawned a series of self teachings that lead to many performances. Such performances included: fire poi, stand-up comedy, high school plays, SPACE performances; and several other projects that would make any craftsman proud.
Everyone who met him instantly wanted to be his friend and felt a type of joy just simply having him near.
Family and friends are mourning a double loss and Anthony and Jaycee will be dearly missed by all.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Hortencia Delgado of Ukiah; his father, Anthony
Celesia of Santa Rosa; his sisters, Skylar Brown and Katarina Fraser of Ukiah; his
grandparents, Francisco and Antonia Delgado of Ukiah, and Tamara Celesia of Ukiah; his great grandmother, Jacqueline Johanson of Mountain Ranch; his aunt and uncle and godparents, Antonia Delgado-Vega and Genaro Vega of Ukiah; his great uncle Jon Celesia of El Cerrito; his great aunt Kym Nelson of Mountain Ranch; his cousins, Jasmyn Vega, Gabriel Vega and Juliana Vega of Ukiah, Julia Celesia of El Cerrito, Dakota Nesbit, Sage Nesbit, Sommer, Nesbit, Carson Nesbit of Roseville;…and Neil.
Visitation for both Anthony Delgado and Jaycee Sturges will be from 2 pm to 8pm Sunday, April 15 at Eversole Mortuary and a graveside service at 2 pm Monday, April 16 at the Ukiah Cemetery. Anthony will be buried in the casket that brought him home, which was lovingly made by his father and his father’s friends who had known him since he was a young boy.
A memorial fund has been established at Savings Bank of Mendocino, in the name of Anthony Delgado.
Special thanks to the people of the following organizations for their generosity and support: Mendocino Health Clinic, Little Caesars, SPACE, and the Savings Bank of Mendocino.
