Obituary:
Bruce Lynden DeVries, a long time educator and avid pilot, died April 26th from a massive stroke in San Francisco. He was 79.
In addition to his wife Gayle, Bruce is survived by his son Keith (Jenny) of Carmichael, CA; son Kevin (Cindy) of Ukiah; daughter Kori (David) of Solvang, CA; six granddaughters Kristel (Bryan), Kaylan, Stephanie, Danielle, Carlson and Anna; brother Gordon Schweitzer (Thea) of Poulsbo, WA; and sister Loween DeVries of Sunnyvale, CA; brother-in-laws Raymond Carlson (Barbara) of Coalinga, CA; Albert Carlson of Campbell, CA; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a private burial followed by a public celebration of Bruce's life on Saturday May 12th at 2PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Ukiah. Reception will immediately follow the service at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Bruce can be given to First Presbyterian Church of Ukiah Memorial Fund.
