Constance Louise Diamond left us at 3:15 AM on June 26th after an exhausting battle with cancer. She was 65. Connie worked for UVAH for over 31 years and was very active and able in assisting people and companies fill open jobs around the community. The reason she was so great at her job, was because people would be hard pressed to find another example of somebody so empowering and full of the type of love that made it easy to love yourself. Beyond her work, Connie was a champion of her community and represented the Wagenseller Neighborhood with vigor. She always hoped to one day lobby for a park in her quadrant of town. Connie was born to nurture and raised her children to be compassionate and always stressed upon us the importance of selflessness, along with the maintenance of our own well-being. She was 27 years sober and guided others who battled addiction through their emotions and problems with a personal security about her that enabled us to feel level and comfortable even through the most tumultuous personal crises. Above all, Connie Diamond loved her family and provided for all of us in a diligent, stable manner. Even as a 20 year old girl, who spent years living off the grid, she provided for her family, keeping us fed and often times filling the void of a male parent and teaching us the tactics often relied upon from a father while caring for us and showing the compassion and openness expected of a traditional mother . She cared for children through several generations all the way up until her hospitalization in mid June and her door was always open for all of us and our friends when we needed it to be. She leaves behind her mother Xanta Brondstetter. Her four siblings, Sandra Gleichmann, Lorraine Michels, Michael Brondstetter and Michelle Hooker. She also leaves her son and daughter-in-law Jason and Jolene Diamond. Lastly she leaves her six grandchildren Blaine Diamond-Boyd, Brennen Snodgrass, Xanta Diamond, Lucas Diamond, Alexander Diamond and Solange Gorno.
