On September 29, 2024, our beloved Grandma Diane Pauli ,86, left this earth peacefully -without pain or fear -to be with her Lord and Savior. Diane was born in Seattle, WA on May 27, 1938 to Olaf A. Jangaard and Emelia H. Pierog She was the oldest of 3 children and grew up in Seattle and later the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. Diane attended San Diego Highschool and had many dear friends from that time. She graduated from San Diego State College with a teaching credential and would enjoy early childhood involvement her whole life in Sunday school, vacation bible school, babysitting her grandkids regularly, helping in the grandkids’ classrooms, doing autoharp sing -alongs, and playing the character Mother Goose.She had many other interests too! Child Development Center(CDC), Mendocino College Board of Trustees, Ukiah Unified School Board of Trustees, CA Farm Bureau Political Action Committee, Republican Women, Grace Lutheran Church choir and guest liturgist, “Grace Notes“ Quartet, sewing ,painting, tap dancing and quilt making.Diane was a true matriarch . She brought us all together with her unconditional love. She is the one who made birthdays special and completely made Christmas. We honor her legacy today and always. With gratitude and joy.Diane was predeceased by husbands Edgar A. Cawthon Jr. of San Diego, Terry Sorby of Ukiah, and Ernie Pauli of Potter Valley. She is survived by her brother, Norman Jangaard of Solana Beach CA, (Brenda), her sister Linda Jangaard of Port Townsend WA, (Stan ), daughter Anna Chamberlin of San Diego, son Dwight Cawthon of Ukiah( Ana), stepson Bill Pauli of Potter Valley,(Janet), 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A special thank you to the Paulis and the Dalistans for their extra patience and loving efforts for Diane in the last few years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 200 Wabash Avenue, Ukiah, CA 95482 with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Joyful colored clothing requested by Diane to celebrate her life and reunion with God our Father.
