Obituary:
Mary Ann Donalson, 88, of Ukiah passed away at Redwood Cove Health Care Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Mary Ann was born in Bismarck, ND. She had lived in Ukiah for 50 plus years.
Mary Ann graduated from nursing school in 1944. She worked as an RN Nurse until she married Glen and became a homemaker.
Mary Ann was a member of the Ukiah Emblem Club and Den Mother for the Girl Scouts. She was a founding member of the Children’s Home Society.
She was most proud of being a Eucharistic Minister visiting the sick and ageing of Ukiah for over 30 years.
Her pleasures were simple. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved children, her church, birds, flowers and the ocean. Mary Ann loved to go for rides in the country, listen to music boxes, go dancing, playing bridge and having a cup of coffee. She was a baseball and football fan.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years Glen Donalson of Ukiah, daughter Debbi Donalson of Petaluma, CA. son Craig Donalson of Albuquerque, NM, sister Rosemary Brown and a sister-in-law Darlene Brown of Bismarck, ND. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by eight siblings and her mother and father.
A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Eversole Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Interment services will be held at the Ukiah Cemetery and a reception will follow at the St. Mary’s parish hall.
Memorial donations in Mary Ann’s name may be made to Hospice of Ukiah or the St. Mary’s School.
Her middle name was Rose and that is what she was and always will be to her family, a Rose.
