Obituary:
Mary Duncan resident of Redwood Valley passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Mary died in Santa Rosa, Ca. with family members at her side at the age of 70.
Born March 16, 1939 in Buckville, Arkansas to the late William & Corene Minton. Mary moved to Boonville, Ca. as a small child. Mary attended school in Boonville until she married Robley Duncan of Gualala, Ca. her husband of 54 years. The couple lived in the Boonville area for a short time before living in Fort Bragg, Ca then continuing down the coast in the late 60s to raise their family in Gualala, Ca.
Mary worked at the Surf Supermarket in Gualala, for many years before retiring and moving to Redwood Valley. Mary enjoyed weekend motorcycle trips with her husband and friends, camping and fishing. Mostly Mary enjoyed her time with her family. She loved being a grandmother to her five grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband Robley; daughter Rochelle Woodward; son Mark Duncan and daughter-in-law; Kelly Duncan; grandchildren; Dustin, Nicole, Curtis, Kelsey, Mathew and great grandson Nicholas; sisters Betty Adams and Vera May Wallace. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers Edward and Eugene Minton.
Graveside services for family members will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery in Boonville, Ca. at 1:00 PM. Friends are invited to join family members following the graveside service at the Boonville Apple Hall dining room at 2:00 PM for desert in Marys favorite motto Life is Short, Eat Desert First.
