Obituary:
Aubrey Lindsey Ellard (Lynn), age 80, of Redwood Valley, California, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2016.
Born in Kennedy, Texas, on June 27, 1935, Lynn lived in Southern California, then moved back to Texas, and then for the past 26 years lived in Redwood Valley. He is survived by his wife Dana of Redwood Valley, daughter Donna Vanden Raadt (husband Stephen) of Huntington Beach, CA, son Steven Ellard of Redwood Valley, six grandchildren (Rob, Steven, and Lauren Moses; and Steven, Nikki, Katelyn Ellard) and great-grandson Roland Moses, brother Glen Ellard (Missouri), Dale Ellard (Washington), Don Ellard (Redwood Valley), sisters Geraldine Rotermund (Washington), Larie Hall (Clearlake Oaks), Barbara Dotson (Washington), and Deborah Wagner (Woodland), and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynn was preceded in death in 2011 by his wife of 49 years, Alice Ellard.
Lynn served in the U.S. Army, worked as a sheet metal worker for many years, then became involved in all aspects of trucking, ultimately owning his own logging truck and trucking business. In retirement, Lynn enjoyed being actively involved with his church, driving bus for the Ukiah Senior Center, managing his rentals, and working on and collecting classic cars. He loved his Lord and his family, and his dogs. He also loved feeding and watching the wild birds and squirrels that visited his backyard. He will always be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help people.
Lynn will be laid to rest in a private burial service in Ukiah.
