Ernest Blake

Ernest Blake passed away peacefully in his home with his wife by his side on November 25, 2022.

He was born on June 9, 1948, in West Virginia.  Before coming to California, he pastored a church in West Virginia and Kentucky.  In 1984, he moved to Ukiah and married his wife of 38 years, Glenda.

He worked for the Mendocino County Office of Education, in the Special Education Department, until his retirement in 2020.  Blake enjoyed his job and dearly loved his students.  He also loved to read and learn about many subjects.  He especially loved to teach God’s word and tell others about his Savior, as an assistant pastor at Gospel Tabernacle.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda, son Jeremy, five brothers and four sisters, his special “adopted” family, the Mullins of West Virginia, and his in-laws, Gordon and Sue Engman, of Ukiah.  He is predeceased by his mother, Josephine Wolfe, and his father, Charles Blake, one sister, and Ralph and Irene Mullins.

A private service will be held.
