John Estes, Jr.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be said for John Estes, Jr. of Potter Valley on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Burial will follow in Potter Valley Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary. John passed away at his home on Thursday, November 8, 2012.
Born September 19, 1940 in Hawaii, John has resided in Potter Valley for the past 28 years. He was owner of Hoppers Corner Saloon. He loved to travel home to Hawaii to visit his family and friends. He enjoyed and lived to hunt and was a sponsor and supporter of Ducks Unlimited, Elk Foundation and local schools actives He continued to work and help others every day of his life. He will always be remembered for his big heart, his love for everyone around him, his generous nature, smile, sense of humor, constant jokes and laughter. John fulfilled his lifetime dream of helping others. He always embraced a challenge.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Rose Estes, son Lance Estes, parents John Sr. and Mary Estes, mother-in-law Mary Ann Kaye, brother Gregory Estes and sister Patricia Estes. He is survived by his loving sons Michael and Darrin Estes, fiancée Paula Cabezut, sisters Debbie and Karen, brothers Rodney and Norman and grandson Justin Estes and many, many friends and family.
A big piece of Potter Valley will be missing without him.
