Duane Richard Foord, 84, of Redwood Valley, Ca. passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 with his family present. Duane was born in Willits, Ca. on July 7, 1925. He had lived in Mendocino County his whole life except for the time he spent in the US Navy Company 179, Regiment 2, Battalion 7 in 1946.
Duane was an owner of Eriksen & Foord Box. Co. He was most proud of his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Duane loved dancing and collecting rocks. He was always happy and had a smile on his face Duane was a people person.
Duane is survived by his sons Steven Foord of Idaho, Russell Foord of Sacramento and Samuel Foord and his wife Joanne of Ukiah, daughter in law Janet Foord of Ukiah, companion of nine years Vera Smith of Potter Valley, grandchildren Kate Foord and Dylan Foord of Michigan, Heather Foord and Jesse Foord of Sacramento, Steven Foord, Joseph Foord and Jacqueline Foord all of Ukiah, Cambria Milani, Angela Foord of Ukiah, David Foord of Idaho and Alisha Marin of Ukiah, great grandchildren Brittnie, Desiree, Janelle and Lacey Milani, Kendall and Trez Foord, Ariel and Mathew Laberdie, Kyla and Alex Marin, Kadence Foord, Ashley and Derrick Wallace. Duane was preceded in death by his father and mother Louie and Vera Foord, wife Catherine Simmerly Foord and his son Larry Foord.
At Duane’s request, no services will be held.
