Upon Doug going into his senior year he decided to join the U.S. Army to serve his Country at the age of 17. Doug’s tour of Vietnam changed his life forever. He later returned to Ukiah High to receive his diploma.

Doug moved up to Idaho and lived there for many wonderful years to be close to his son, Doug Jr. . He was proud of his home and enjoyed working in his yard.
Doug ended up moving back to Ukiah in 1997 to be his mother’s caregiver until her death, and then stayed on to once again help take care of his father until his passing in 2011.

Doug is survived by his son, Douglas A Ford Jr. and his two daughters Dawnelle and Trish, his sister’s; Trudy Babcock, Charlene, best friend and brother-in-law Martin Moyer, Kathy and brother-in-law Keith Linville. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his friend and caregiver Becky who helped him through his last days.
There will be graveside services with family and friends Thursday, September 20, 11 am at the Ukiah Cemetery. Doug will be missed by all who knew him and knows that we will all be together again someday. We love you Doug!!!
