Obituary:
Philip Norman Frisbie – born to William Edward and Alice Stephens Frisbie September 2, 1038 at home in Alleghany, California. Philip went to be with the Lord very peacefully Monday evening, December 5, 2016.

Phil left school after his junior year of high school and joined the Navy. His Basic Train was done in San Diego and he served four years. Most of that time was spent on board the USS Molalla at sea. His job on board ship was down in the boiler room. He traveled to the Bering Sea, Japan, Hong Kong – where he had a tailored suit made and also stopped in at Hawaii.

Upon returning home he finished his senior year at Ukiah High School graduating in 1960.

He married Billie Mae Chambers with whom he had two children: Philip Norman, Jr. and Phyllis Kay Frisbie.

Phil worked mainly as a mechanic, but also worked as a Laborer for many years belonging to the local Union Laborers Union. He also worked part time at Foots Sporting Goods & Liquor for extra money during the 1970’s. Phil also served on the board on N.C. O. three years.

As a mechanic Phil had worked for Volkswagen Garage, Bob Miller, County of Mendocino and Caltrans before retiring in 1995 on disability due to health problems.

Philip married Ruth Mitchell Johnson in 1975 taking on the task of fatherhood to her two sons, Paul R. Johnson & James E. Johnson, Jr.

During their years of marriage Phil & Ruth were active in church work, especially while their children were young. Phil worked with “Boys Brigade” while Ruth worked with the “Pioneer Girls.” Phil helped boys build Pinewood Derby Cars and race them much to the boys’ delight. He sang in the church choirs as well sang in a group run by Dan Hill called “The Praise Singers.” The “Praise Singers” sang, among other things, Easter and Christmas Cantatas.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, his two older brothers: Stephen Edward Frisbie and Paul Warren Frisbie.

Phil is survived by sisters Carol Swan Green and Ida Frisbie Kolding (Joe) and brother Richard “Dick” Riley Frisbie (Beth). Also surviving are children: Philip Norman Frisbie, Jr,(Linda) Phyllis “Kay” Frisbie, Paul Rayburn Johnson (Diane), James Edward Johnson, Jr.(Zena). Nine grandchildren: Jennilyn Frisbie(Joe)Bamberger, Jason Frisbie, Julie Frisbie, Chayton Johnson, Chesney Johnson, Logan Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Chancelyn Johnson, two great grandsons: Quinn Gones and Grayson Bamberger as well as many nieces and nephews.
