On September 9, 2014 at 10:20am Angel passed away after a two year battle with brain cancer at Frank Howard Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Agustina Ruiz de Guevara and his four daughters Sarah, Josefina, Ibon, Martina and his four sons Sotero, Armando, Galdino and Juan Diego. Also survived by his 24 beautiful grandchildren and survived by his sisters, Rosa Sanchez and Alma Barrales and by his brothers Anselmo Guevera, Miguel Sanchez, Lionel Sanchez and Efigenio Fuentes and his son-in-laws Chris Cliburn, Sergio Dominguez, and Martin Mendoza
Angel was born and raised in Tecolutla, Puebla Mexico. Immersed in poverty and wanting a better life for himself and his family he enlisted in the military in Mexico. After his tour, he was given a stipend with which he bought a house for his wife and four kids at the time. Instilled with a bigger vision he and his family migrated to the United States. After establishing himself he sent for family members who wanted a better life. After years of hard work he bought a house and became and U.S. Citizen.
He was a respected and charastmatic elder in the Mexican Community. Known for his generosity, he always gave help to anyone in need, regardless of race.
He will be known as a caring, hard working man, husband and father.
His language barrier was nothing more than a challenge, one of many he overcame. He did not take no for an answer and loved a challenge. He loved his animals, gardening, fishing and the Raiders.
Most of all he will be remembered for his unquestionable dedication to his family, as well as his teaching-duty bound by blood, embracing a challenge, taking the opportunity to prove oneself, and always bettering oneself, and remember ones humble beginnings.
