Obituary:
Orville L. “Jack” Gardner of Ukiah passed away at Mountain View Assisted Living on Monday, March 21, 2011. Jack was born September 11, 1916 in Oklahoma he was 94 years old.
Jack was a resident of Ukiah for the past 20 years. During his working years, Jack was a school bus driver and a head custodian. Jack served his country during World War II receiving the Good Conduct Medal, three Bronze Stars and the American Defense Service Ribbon.
Jack lived life to its fullest. He will be remembered by his family and friends as being a kind and generous person who was devoted to his family. He would often say “One day at a time”.
Jack is survived by his daughter Jeanie Yates and her husband Jim of Texas, sons Jack Gardner and his wife Linda of Ca, Paul Gardner of Ca, and Tom Gardner and his wife Celia of Texas, sister Jean Helget of Ca, grandchildren Ky Gardner, Kimberly Hayes, Jason Gardner, Trevor Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Jesse Gardner, Aaron Gardner, Lisa Jones, Gina Stabbaert and Debbie Leavings, also nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Lois Gardner, his first wife Gladys Gardner and his second wife Wilma Westman Gardner and his brother-in-law Pete Helget.
At Jack’s request, no services will be held.
The family prefers memorial donations in Jack’s name to Hospice of Ukiah.
