Garry Chapman

Garry was born in Burney CA to Opel & Arvil Chapman.  Arvil was an independent trucker, so the family moved often to wherever there was work.  Garry married the love of his life, Sandy on August 18, 1962 at Waterloo NE.  In 1965 the young couple and their son Terry moved to Ukiah.  In 1968 the family was blessed with another son, Rick.   Garry worked in the logging industry as a truck driver and mechanic for employers Albert Elmer, ThreeCo, Masonite, LP, and Granite Paving.   There wasn’t any equipment or machinery he couldn’t drive or fix.  Garry enjoyed attending his sons & grandchildren’s ballgames and playing horseshoes with Sandy in the backyard.   Garry had the “gift of gab” meaning he could and would talk effortlessly with anyone, anywhere.   He will be missed by his family, and many friends at the Truck Stop, Club Calpella, and many others throughout the area.   Garry was proceeded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sandy, sister Melba, brothers Argile, Bill, and Charlie.  He is survived by his son Terry and his wife Diana, grandchildren Jocelyn, Jake, Jordan, Luke, and 8 great grandchildren; son Rick and his wife Michell, grandchildren Kellie, Clay, Kendall, Lonnie, Chandler, Rylee, and 3 great grandchildren; sisters Ava & Brenda.  A Celebration of Life will be held January 21, 2023 at the Ukiah Golf Course Club House from 12:00 to 2:00.
