Obituary:
Nina Louisa “Lou” Gibson, 90, of Ukiah passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Lou was born April 28, 1920 in Williams, Arizona. She lived in Ukiah for the past 84 years.
Lou worked as a Deputy Treasurer of Mendocino County, School Secretary and also as a Credit Union Manager. She organized and managed book sales for the library, was involved with Friends of the Library organization, Girls Blue Bird Group, Business & Professional Womens Club, Juvenile Justice Commission, the Wapiti Group, PEO, a philanthropic education organization.
Lou is survived by her husband of 67 years Arden “Bing” Gibson of Ukiah, daughter Susan Miles of Ukiah, sister Maxine Fravel of Santa Rosa, grandchildren Jennifer McKenzie and Sarah Meyer, great grandchildren Savannah, Dakota & Jason Meyer and Griffin McKenzie. Lou was preceded in death by her brothers Ted & Bert Hinds, sister Carline Ford and parents Carl & Nina Hinds.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Eversole Mortuary.
