Obituary:
Sharon Kay Goforth, died Saturday July 10th, 2010 at her home after fighting a rare type of Leukemia for the past 3 years. She was 72.
She was born on September 22nd, 1938 and lived most of her life in Ukiah, CA. She is remembered by her willingness to help anybody and everybody, her love of playing bunco, cards and even computer games with her friends and how deeply she loved her family. She was an avid tennis player and loved watching all the tennis tournaments on TV, even diligently watching the 2010 Wimbledon her last couple days. Additionally, she loved and spoiled her cats and they were always by her side.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Bonnie Shannon and husband S.L. of Napa, CA; 3 children, Koreen Sims and husband Glen of Winnipeg Canada; Keith Goforth of Portland, OR; Ken Goforth and wife Jeannie of Redwood Valley, CA; 3 grandaughters, Katia Goforth of Herndon, VA; Shelly Kingwell and husband Dustin of Adin, CA; and Jennifer Arendt and husband Jonah of Ukiah, CA; and 6 great-grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "GG," Emalie, Grace, Jonathan and Noah Kingwell of Adin, CA; Tristan and Kellie Arendt of Ukiah, CA; and niece Sheri and Doug DeWitt of Sacramento, CA; and nephew Steve and Coleen Shannon of Boise, ID; and predeceased by her parents Nathan and Margaret Campbell; husband of 48 years Tom Goforth; and great-granddaughter Aubrey Annette Goforth Nelson.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Jerry and Janet Schwank, Joann De Bernardi, Wally and Marilyn McNally for their assistance with transportation to appointments, taking care of the cats (including cutting kitty cat nails and searching for new kitty litter), grocery and clothing shopping, house and yard work and providing nothing but love and support to Sharon and the family.
The memorial services will be held at 11am, Friday, July 16th at Eversole Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to Phoenix Hospice and/or Moffett Cancer Research Facility.
