Obituary:
Joyce Annette Grand, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2015 with family by her side. Joyce was 77 years old, born August 29, 1937 in Nebraska. A resident of Ukiah for the past twenty years, she previously resided in Lake County and prior to that spent a good portion of her life raising her children in Reseda, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. She was married May 29, 1954 to Harry Tudor Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. A graduate of Lumbleau Real Estate School she acquired her Real
Estate license in 1975 and worked for Jerome Ehrlich Realty in Encino, California where she was awarded Agent of the Year. After relocating to northern California she worked for City Center Realty in Lakeport, California. In more recent years she worked at J.C. Penney in Ukiah and retired from that position to care for her parents.
Joyce dedicated her life to her family and was most proud of raising her four children and pursuing her interests in real estate, her Christian faith and most recently enjoyed pursuing the art of oil painting where she underestimated her talent. She will be remembered for always telling her family to Put it in Gods hands. She loved the snow, mountains, pines, and ocean. Joyce found peace and joy visiting her favorite getaway Sedona, Arizona where she also visited her interest in the extra-terrestrial. Kenny Rogers, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinck were her favorite music artists and her favorite flower was the Peony. Joyces gift to her family was to always make sure that they felt loved and created a magical Christmas holiday. Joyce and Harry gave their children the gift of boating and camping and through this emphasized the importance of family time spent together with irreplaceable fond memories and tradition that has been passed down to their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Marcia Locatelli and husband Steve Locatelli, grandson Brian Locatelli, of Ukiah and granddaughter Jill Hawkins and husband Stephen Hawkins, great granddaughter Sophia Hawkins of Brentwood, California, daughter Monique Burnham and husband Dave Burnham and grandson Grant Burnham, of Ukiah, granddaughter Candace Pomilia and husband Joey Pomilia, great granddaughter Aubrey Pomilia, great grandson Brayden Pomilia, daughter Danielle Piffero and husband Danny Piffero, grandsons Lance Piffero and Brett Piffero of Redwood Valley, son Martin Grand and grandson Harrison Grand of Reno, Nevada, sister Betty Kish and spouse Louis Kish of Valencia, California, sister-in law Beth Marsh of Ventura, California, numerous nieces and nephews and dearest lifelong friend Sharlene Philbrook and spouse Gordon Philbrook of Newhall, California.
Joyce will be reunited with deceased, beloved husband Harry Tudor Grand, parents Jaquetta Lyon and Loyd Lyon of Lake County, brother Richard Lyon and sister in-law Alberta Lyon of Hesperia, California and niece Dana Kish of Lake Nacimiento, California.
Joyces wish is to be cremated and have her ashes buried at sea off the Mendocino coast with her husband. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made on her behalf to the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County. Arrangements and care under the direction of The Eversole Mortuary. A Celebration of Life will take place at the home of daughter and son-in law Marcia and Steve Locatelli on Saturday, March 21st.
