Gwendolyn Bergstrom

Gwendolyn Bergstrom passed away December 2, 2024 at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren as she lost her long battle with cancer.

Gwen was born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1946 to Chester and Elizabeth Hall. The family moved to California and set up home in Chino. She graduated from Chino High School in 1964, married that summer and welcomed her first child shortly after.

She moved to Ukiah in 1977. Here she raised her two daughters and lived out her life in the best way she could. She worked for Ukiah General Hospital for several years before starting her own bookkeeping business. She later worked for and retired from Hopland Water District.

She was most proud of her home up McNab Ranch Rd. It was her favorite place to be. She loved sharing it with family and friends. In the last few years she moved into town to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was surrounded by love in her final years.

Gwen is survived by her daughter, Chris Bettencourt, stepson Loren Bergstrom, stepdaughter Ann Schuler, sisters Betty Roesberry and Charleen Berglund, grandchildren Nate Lovelady, Stephanie Lovelady, Michael Bettencourt, Mabel Bettencourt and great grandchildren, Riley, Rayne and Amelia.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vic, and her beloved first born, Laura Lovelady.

A special thank you goes out to Dr. Wang for your help from beginning to end. Also the staff at Adventist Hospital for caring for her in her final days. At her request, no services will be held.
