Nathaniel Robert Hamilton Nate
Nate Hamilton passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the age of 29 due to complications associated with Muscular Dystrophy. He was born to Mike and Pam Hamilton on May 25, 1983 in Greenbrae, California. At the young age of six Nate was diagnosed with Duchenes Muscular Dystrophy, a disorder that affects about 1 out of 3,600 boys and results in muscular degeneration.
Nate attended Oak Manor, Pomolita Junior High School and Ukiah High School. At age 13 he received his first electric wheel chair which allowed him the freedom to roam around town and to get his first pink slip at school for speeding in the hallway. Nate was often seen wheeling around with his good buddy Willy. After graduating High School, Nate was able to attend Mendocino College taking art and music. Nate always had a cheerful disposition and while working at Home Depot he was helpful in assisting customers find items they were looking for.
Nate loved anything associated with vintage automobiles. He would often draw cars, collect Hot Wheels and attend old car shows. His favorite car of all times was the 57 Chevy.
Nate is survived by his parents, Mike and Pam Hamilton, sister Heather Walsh, brother-in-law Jereme Walsh, nephews Christopher and Nicholas. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Geraldine Hamilton, best friend Johnny, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
The family thanks all their family and friends for the support they have been given over the years, with special thanks to: Muscular Dystrophy Association, Shriners Hospital for Children, Doug Volz, LVN from PMR, and Ukiah Valley Medical Center.
