Memorial Services for Dolores D. Hanks of Redwood Valley will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Redwood Valley Community Church, 951 School Way in Redwood Valley, Pastor Kevin McDougall will officiate. Inurnment was held in Ukiah Cemetery.
Born January 13, 1929 in Bly, Oregon, Dolores passed away at her home on Monday, April 13, 2015 surrounded by her family. She has resided in the area since 1951. She was a homemaker, mother, business owner, rancher, caregiver, sewer, quilter and upholsterer. Dolores was very proud of her children and family. She was an active member of the Redwood Valley Community Church. She received an Outstanding Achievement Award in Poetry from the International Society of Poets. Dolores will be remembered for her loving, talented and helping hands whether it be food, she was always baking or cooking, or projects. She always put her family and friends first. She always had kind, gentle loving words for everyone around her.
Dolores is survived by her daughters Cheryl Franklin and Cynthia Lindeman, son Clinton Hanks, brother Walter Bud McLeod, grandchildren Jason Clarke, Jeremy Lewis, Cristen McKenzie, Natasha Oliver-Johnson and Lyle Hanks along with 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Hanks in 1988, sons James Q. Anderson (Hanks) in 1968 and Richard A. Anderson (Hanks) in 1964 and grandson Del (Anderson) Fross.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Redwood Valley/Calpella Fire Department.
