Obituary:
Melba Lee Hardin, 95, of Hopland, Ca. passed away in Ukiah, Ca. on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Melba was born in Magazine, Ar. on May 18, 1916.
Melba lived 40 years in Arkansas prior to moving to Hopland 55 years ago. She graduated from Magazine High School and attended 4 years at the University of Oklahoma. As a young adult, she worked on her family farm and later was a homemaker and housekeeper.
Melba was very proud of her family. She liked to sew and make quilts and clothing for her many family members. She also liked working in her garden and attending Hopland Baptist Church. Melba will be remembered for loving to have her many family members close to her and always taking care of her family.
Melba is survived by her daughters Deloris Hardin of Central Point, Or. and Pat Saavedra of Hopland, Ca., son Rex Hardin of Ukiah, Ca. grandchildren Alex Hardin, Barbara Peondelvalle, Toni DiMaggio, Kevin Hardin, Christopher Fortunati, Marc Saavedra, Natalia Saavedra and Nicholas Saavedra, also 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Melba was preceded in death by her granddaughter Janice Jojola.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 6:00 PM at the Hopland Cemetery, with Pastor Gerry Burney officiating.
