Obituary:
Longtime Ukiah resident Hazel Hopper Harmon died Feb 1, 2013. She was 100 years old. At her request, no services will be held.
Hazel was born in Monterey, Ca to Elmer and Loretta Hopper on April 30, 1912 but lived most of her life in Ukiah.
She graduated from Ukiah High School in 1930 and became a legal secretary for a number of years. She married Robert Harmon in 1933.
She was a past Worthy Matron of Kingsley Chapter 58, O.E.S., and was a past president of Saturday Afternoon Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1981.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marietta and John Smith and by her granddaughter Shelley Anne Smith, all of Half Moon Bay.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sara Lee Hopper of South Carolina, and by niece Billie Mitchell of Alamo and nephew William Hopper of Lafayette and grandnieces, Beckie, Kristen, and Emily.
Memorial donations may be made to Kingsley Chapter O.E.S., Saturday Afternoon Club, Phoenix Hospice, or Animal Care Services of Mendocino County.
