Robert Harrigan was born in San Francisco to Robert and Irene Harrigan in 1938. He attended Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco and graduated high school in Napa in1955.
Robert then enlisted in the Coast Guard as an Electronic Technician. He served in California, Alaska, and Florida, and in Connecticut on the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle. While he was in Florida, Robert met Suzanne Brient and they married in 1959. Robert and Suzanne moved back to California to what would later become Silicon Valley. Robert worked for high tech companies such as Sylvania and Huggins Labs while raising four children. In 1968, Robert left the high tech industry and worked in sales until 1982. During the mid 1970’s, Robert started making homemade wine. The wine hobby led to a wine TV show and an opportunity to buy a multimillion dollar winery. The winery deal wasn’t completed, and in 1982, Robert and Suzanne started an accounting, business consulting and tax preparation business. They continued the business until 2008, when their daughter, Suzie, took over the business.
In 2008, Robert and Suzanne moved from Milpitas to Potter Valley on a 40-acre property without water or electricity. Robert and Suzanne have been improving the property until Robert died of cancer March 5, 2022. Robert’s hobbies included history research, writing, wood carving and furniture woodworking.
Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Suzanne, three sons, Robert, Thomas and Peter, and daughter Suzanne, his granddaughter Kelsey, his sister Francis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Irene, his sister Marie, and his daughter Suzanne Elizabeth.
