Ella Jean Harris

At her request there will be no services for Ella Jean Harris of Ukiah who passed away at a local convalescent hospital on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
Born November 9, 1922 in Eureka, California, Jean was a homemaker and business owner. She resided in the Ukiah area for the last 51 years and was a 50 year member of Eastern Star.
Jean was very proud of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids and also of being the original owners of Yokayo Bowl. One of her favorite past times was spending time at Ft. Bragg commercially fishing with her husband “Shorty”.
Jean is survived by her kids Dan and Lorrie Harris of Roseburg, Oregon, Lynn and Jim Markus of Windsor and Donald Pittman of Ukiah, grandkids Nick Markus of Hayward, Amy Johnson of Santa Rosa, Margaret Slotte of Ukiah, Chris Pittman of Ukiah, Mike Harris of Oregon, Steve Harris of Oregon, David Harris of Oregon and Ben Harris of Wisconsin, 14 great grandkids, sisters Pat Lundy of Oregon and Jackie Addleman of California. She was preceded in death by her husband “Shorty” and daughter Lee Pittman. She will be inurned at Evergreen Memorial Gardens where both her husband “Shorty” and daughter Lee are.
Jean loved the holidays and especially Christmas time when she could make beautiful floral arrangements and cook to her heart’s content.
She was a very kind, caring lady and will be missed by us all.
