Obituary:
Barbara Jean Hiatt Bobbie of Boonville, Ca. passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 in Ukiah. Bobbie was born November 20, 1930 in Los Angeles at the age of 16 she moved to Boonville, Ca.
Bobbie was a waitress and a housewife. She had many illnesses but was still able to enjoy the outdoors. Genealogy was important to her she was the historian of the valley and on both sides of her family. She was proud to be around long enough to enjoy her grandkids and great grandkids. Bobbie was a member of the Garden Club, Unite Club and the Anderson Valley historical museum. She rode her horse in a color guard in parades. She enjoyed photography, taking and organizing the photos in books.
Bobbie will be remembered for her love of family and all animals. She always had a lovely yard full of flowers. Holidays were always important to her at Christmas time her home and yard always had lights. She was a sports mom and grandma who loved to go to the games and support her kids. She loved to sit and talk about the history of the valley and family. BBQs, camping, fishing and going to the coast to whale watch with family and friends were a great enjoyment to her. Bobbie always froze peaches for the grandkids. In general, she loved life.
Her dog Sam and cat Zoro were so important to her, and her caregiver Amy Bloyd was very special to her.
Bobbie is survived by her daughters Terri Rhoades and husband Steve and Linda Abbott and husband Gary of Boonville, sisters Connie Matz of Gualala, Carol Crouse, Judy Siren, Pattie Marrow all of Vancouver, Wa, brother Bill Marshall, Danny Marshall of Vancouver, Wa, grandchildren Justin and Nick Rhoades of Boonville, Janelle Teague of Boonville and Steven Crawford of Palm Springs, great grandchildren Chelsea and Heather Teague of Boonville, Nathalie Marcum and Anthony Rhoades of Boonville. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband James Monroe Hiatt on December 14, 2011.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds lawn area at 1:00 PM
