Obituary:
Sean Hopkins, Ukiah CA. died unexpectedly 8/10/2009, at home. He was 33 years old. Born: 9/28/1975 in Salt Lake City Utah
Sean worked at Ukiah Natural Foods, Co-op as one of the assistant managers. He enjoyed his work, supporting and helping to motivate the checkers at the store. During busy times at work Sean would bake cookies for the store staff, for treats on their breaks. According to one of Seans co-workers, anyone who ever ate one of Seans cookies was his friend. Sean loved to cook and was famous among friends and family for his ability to create delicious food.
Sean particularly loved his large family and found joy in opportunities to share food, family and friends. Sean had no children of his own, but had a special affinity for children, including his younger siblings, his eleven nieces and nephews and the children of all his friends.
Sean was built like a tank and took delight in wrestling with the family, usually several people jumping on him at the same time unable to take him down. When Sean was about ten years old, a neighborhood friend karate-kicked Sean, breaking his own foot! Sean carried the boy home without a bruise himself.
Sean will be remembered for his kindness, love and support that he shared with others from a seemingly indestructible body, and for his enormous sense of humor. Sean always had a smile and upbeat exchange to share with others. Sean loved everyone and thrived in the company of others.
Sean was particularly proud of recently accomplishing level 70 on WoW. Other activities he loved were disc golf, gaming, softball, barbecuing and no-mercy, no-rules mud football. His favorite sayings were: wuss choke and walk it off as in Quit choking, you wusses and walk it off!
Survivors include Grandfather Dan Stone of Ukiah; Mother Pamela Hopkins of Ukiah; Father Mark Hopkins of Arizona; Siblings Gray Hopkins of Pocatello, Idaho; Marc Hopkins of San Jose, California; Faith Hopkins of Willits California; Mikey/Scott Hopkins of Chico, California; Jon Hopkins of Marina, California; Ben Hopkins of Ukiah and Shannon Bradford of Okinawa, Japan. Sean is also survived by 3 nephews, 8 nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins and loving friends too numerous to mention.
